06 Feb 2009 Before You Install E-Arcade

01. PLEASE, backup your files! Keep a fresh copy of smf and any mods you have installed. If you mess up any files you can just upload a fresh new ones. If have edited any files, back them up and save them to a different folder. If you make any extra changes you can go back and see what you've already accomplished.

02. Take note of the SMF forum version that you are using. This information can be found at the bottom of any SMF forum page and will look similar to the image below. Other information may be found there as well.

03. Take note of the E-Arcade version that you are using if you have a previous or current version installed. This information can be found at the bottom of any E-Arcade page and will look similar to the image below.

04. Uninstall any and all previous versions of the E-Arcade mod and hacks for it. This also includes any modified code.

05. Go to your "Forum Error Log" in your SMF Forum Admin to see if you have any errors. Please, resolve them first!

If you cannot fix them then make a list of them so you will not assume they are related to any arcade errors. Clear all errors play around with the forum setting to see if any errors return. You will then know what causes the errors. It is a good practice to do this before installing any new mods.

06. Although this is not necessary, it is very good practice to install new mods to a test site first. You can then resolve any issues before adding mods to your live site and upset any of your users and/or crashing your site.
